The Membrane Pleated Filter Cartridge is a top-tier solution for precision filtration. It’s an absolute-rated filter that combines a strong pleated design with a membrane surface—usually PTFE or nylon—to guarantee it catches particles as promised. It’s built for jobs that need submicron accuracy and bacteria retention, making it a go-to choice in pharma, food & drink, and electronics, where final product safety is critical.
Absolute filtration efficiency – This filter delivers reliable, absolute particle removal based on its micron rating. That means consistent product quality and help meeting strict purity standards.
High strength and compatibility – The PTFE membrane is tough and works with a wide range of chemicals. It holds up to rigorous integrity testing and handles aggressive solvents and sterilization processes well.
High flow, low hold-up volume – Thanks to the pleated design, you get lots of surface area. That means high flow rates with low pressure drop, and less product left behind in valuable process streams.
Sterilizing-grade performance – Many of our membrane cartridges are designed to be sterilizing-grade, so they can trap bacteria and play a key role in aseptic processing.
Filter media: PTFE, Nylon, PES, PVDF
Filtration type: Absolute surface filtration
Filtration accuracy: 0.1, 0.22, 0.45, 0.65, 1.0 micron (absolute)
Max operating temperature: Varies by media (e.g., ≤80°C for PES)
Compatibility: Broad chemical compatibility, depends on media
Sterilizable: Yes (steam, autoclave, SIP – depends on media)
Pharmaceutical sterile filtration – Great for sterilizing injectable drugs, eye solutions, and process gases, helping ensure sterility and patient safety.
Electronics UPW polishing – Used as a final polish in ultrapure water systems to catch tiny particles that could ruin microchip production.
Food & beverage final filtration – Clarifies and stabilizes drinks like beer, wine, and juices, and sterilizes ingredients and gases to prevent spoilage and extend shelf life.
Handle the cartridge carefully to avoid damaging the membrane. Always pre-flush it according to the instructions to remove preservatives and wet the membrane.
For critical applications, make sure the system is properly sterilized before use. After installing the cartridge—and before starting your process—do an integrity test.
Q: What does an 'absolute' rating mean?
A: An absolute-rated filter removes 99.99% or more of particles at or above the stated micron size. In practice, it means 100% removal of all particles ≥ the rated size under standard test conditions. For example, a 0.22μm absolute filter is validated to retain a minimum of 10⁷ CFU/cm² of Brevundimonas diminuta (the standard challenge bacteria), which equates to >99.9999% removal efficiency.
Q: Can it be steamed sterilized?
A: This depends on the membrane material and construction. PTFE and PES membranes are often steam sterilizable. Please check the product specifications for the specific cartridge.
