Our Carbon Block Water Filter is a high-performance solid carbon block filter that's great at both chemical reduction and particle filtration. It's formed under high pressure, so this dense block of activated carbon gives water longer contact time with the carbon. That means it effectively removes chlorine, bad tastes, and unpleasant odors. As a top-notch CTO filter cartridge (that's Chlorine, Taste, Odor), it's the perfect choice for under-sink systems and drinking water applications—giving you cleaner, better-tasting water.
Exceptional chlorine & taste removal – The high-density carbon block structure maximizes contact between water and activated carbon. That means highly efficient adsorption and much better reduction of chlorine, tastes, and odors compared to loose carbon media.
Dual-function filtration – It combines mechanical filtration with chemical adsorption. The tight pore structure catches fine sediment and particles, while also reducing contaminants. So you get two stages of purification in one filter cartridge.
Made from premium materials – We use high-quality, food-grade coconut shell carbon as the raw material. This natural shell-based carbon is known for its high density and great adsorption capacity, giving you excellent performance and safety.
Low pressure drop design – With a spiral wound or cross-cut pattern, our block delivers strong water flow with minimal pressure drop. That means consistent performance without killing your water pressure at home.

Point-of-use drinking water systems – The most common use is under-sink and countertop filters, directly improving the taste and odor of tap water for drinking and cooking.
Pre-filtration for RO systems – Often used as a pre-filter in reverse osmosis systems to remove chlorine and sediment, protecting the delicate RO membrane from damage and premature fouling.
Whole house water taste improvement – Installed in large-scale systems to give better-tasting water from every tap in the house, while protecting appliances from chlorine corrosion.
Turn off the water supply and release pressure from the housing.
Unscrew the sump and take out the old cartridge.
Clean the inside of the housing with clean water.
Insert the new carbon block filter and put the housing back together.
Slowly turn the water back on and check for leaks.
Flush the cartridge for 5 minutes before using the water.
Q: How often should I replace this filter?
A: Typically every 6-9 months, or after filtering 2,000 gallons, depending on your water quality and usage. A noticeable change in taste or flow rate indicates it's time for a change.
Q: Does it remove fluoride or heavy metals?
A: Standard CTO blocks are not designed for fluoride removal. Some specialty blocks can reduce heavy metals. Please check the product specifications for certification against specific contaminants.
Q: Why is the water black initially?
A: This is caused by harmless carbon fines. Flushing the cartridge for 5-10 minutes until the water runs clear will resolve this issue.
